He is back!
King Ludwig II of Bavaria ruled over Bavaria from 1865 to 1886 and is still well-known to everybody, also because of his famous home, the Neuschwanstein Castle. Today he came back in his magnificent robe and is happy to be a part of your Winter Kubb Tournament in and around Munich! However, he might not have known exactly, what he has got himself into, since the goal of this Scandinavian parlour game, which is also called Vikings’ chess, lies in the elimination of the other team’s king. In order to reach that goal you will need to develop a functioning strategy with your whole team and a lot of communication. With a little skill and marksmanship you will surely manage, to knock over the brave pawns in form of wooden blocks (the so-called Kubb). As soon as you have managed to get rid of the pawns, you can spell doom for the king and send him back to where he came from! If you manage, to eliminate the king before the other team manages to do so, you will not only come to fame but you can also ensconce yourself in the throne!
And he is gone again
After the king has successfully been expelled from the Vikings’ Game, he returned to his last resting place, the Michaelskirche in Munich. However, one should honour his legacy (he used to be the King after all), which is why the party with the whole team starts after the event with a delicious beer and Bavarian specialties! Ludwig would have liked it that way!
