Cooperation Instead of Competition – Working Together Toward a Common Goal
In many companies, competition is part of everyday life: goal-setting, key metrics, and pressure to perform. However, what makes teams successful in the long run is not competition – but cooperation. This is exactly where the Teamgeist Games come in.
Cooperative team events are New Games – even for large groups
They are deliberately designed as cooperative team games inspired by the New Games movement. This means that teams don’t play against each other, but with each other. The goal is to achieve a shared result – through coordination, communication, and mutual support. The team-building aspect is clearly the focus. At the same time, the activities foster a sense of lightheartedness, dynamism, and genuine enjoyment.
Why cooperative team events promote collaboration:
Cooperation is a core strategic competency of modern organizations. The Teamgeist Games create a safe space for learning where this very competency is developed:
- Shared goal orientation instead of internal competition
- Dialogue on equal footing instead of silo thinking
- Support instead of comparison
- Responsibility for the overall result instead of individual performance
Unlike traditional team challenges, where teams compete against one another, the Teamgeist Games deliberately take the opposite approach. This fosters genuine connection and trust – the foundation of high-performing teams.
Flexible, diverse, scalable
With a wide variety of collaborative team events – ranging from creative to communicative to strategic – Teamgeist Games can be tailored to your specific objectives.

A particularly vivid example within the Teamgeist Games is the Impulse-Reaction XXL. The entire group works on a shared, interconnected, and spectacular chain of impulses. Individual teams are responsible for specific sections. However, the entire system can only function if all interfaces are precisely coordinated. No team can “win” if another fails. The result is achieved exclusively through collective thinking and action. This brings a central organizational principle to life: Companies function as systems – not as lone warriors.

All team members hold onto a rope with both hands. Several knots have been tied into this rope. They symbolize either teamwork (positive) or problems (negative). The team must try to untie all the knots without letting go of the rope, or tie a knot themselves without letting go of the rope.
Kubb is an ancient Scandinavian party game that involves a lot of communication and guarantees fun. Two teams each try to skillfully knock over the other team’s king. In the Kubb game combines strategy, team spirit, a certain athletic aspect to knocking over wooden blocks, and the joy of socializing. Once you’ve played it, you’ll be hooked on Kubb.
Leonardo da Vinci showed us how it's done. You can build a sturdy bridge using nothing but wooden slats. By skillfully joining and interlocking wooden beams, the team must construct a bridge in the shortest time possible.
Strength lies in calmness! The teams must transport a ball under difficult conditions. This requires composure and perfect coordination. The participants learn to solve a task as a team under time pressure.
Deep inside a narrow tube, there is an important notice sealed in a waterproof package. Do not enter the 3-meter radius around this pipe, and do not touch the pipe with your hands. Safely retrieve the note from the pipe. Tools you’ll need: a bottle filled with water, packing twine, a pair of scissors, and your team.
The goal is to build the tallest tower possible. There are 8 tower building blocks available for this purpose. However, the blocks come in different shapes and must not be touched with the hands. The challenge becomes even greater for the team when half of the builders “go blind.” To succeed as a team, they must work with a steady hand and clear communication.
There are no limits to creativity, for example, when writing song lyrics, which will be presented that evening.
According to legend, a monk once instructed his student to travel the world and paint the essence of its diverse beauty onto a single ceramic tile. Unfortunately, the tile broke into seven pieces, and the student could no longer reassemble it into a square. He tried for days on end. An infinite number of patterns and images emerged. In the end, the student realized: He didn’t need to travel out into the world. He could simply find the beauty and diversity of the world in the seven pieces of the broken tile. The game consists of seven tiles in simple geometric shapes.
Want to spice up your next company party but don’t have the right idea? Become participants, spectators, and quiz masters of your own quiz show all at once. Working in teams, you’ll answer quirky questions, tackle tricky team challenges, and enjoy fun games. The questions span all areas of knowledge, so you’ll need wit, teamwork, and quick thinking. Our highlight: Whoever thinks they know the answer presses the buzzer! The system automatically detects who pressed it first! Our tip: This is guaranteed to make your event a complete success, and your employees will get to know each other better in this relaxed atmosphere.
Trust is the key to success. Participants must guide other participants (who are blindfolded) through an obstacle course.
Communicating without words is an art… and when you’re dealing with blind sheep that you’re supposed to lead to the barn, it gets really difficult. A wordless communication system is needed – one that allows a silent “shepherd” to safely guide his “blind sheep” to the “barn” without speaking.
