2025 – teamgeist Opens Its Own Event Venue in the Heart of Berlin
In 2025, we reached another important milestone in the growth of teamgeist with the opening of our own event venue at Potsdamer Platz. Located in the heart of Berlin – where Germany was once divided – it is a place where people come together to connect, collaborate, and grow.
Our new teamgeist venue offers modern, flexible spaces for team events, workshops, and kick-off meetings for up to 50 participants. Thanks to its central location and excellent public transportation connections, it is easily accessible for teams from Berlin and beyond. Four specially designed event packages make planning simple and straightforward, while our full portfolio of teamgeist event formats is also available to create a fully customized experience. 2024 Opening of the 360° Fusion House
The opening of our 360° Fusion House marked another important milestone in the history of our company. 2020 – New Virtual Team Events
The COVID-19 pandemic brought the entire events industry to a standstill. In response, teamgeist combined creativity, innovation, and strong teamwork to develop a new portfolio of virtual team events and online team building experiences that met the changing needs of organizations around the world.

In 2020, teamgeist also expanded its presence in Austria with the launch of the Central Austria location. Serving the regions of Styria, Upper Austria, Carinthia, and Salzburg, the new team is dedicated to strengthening collaboration and team spirit through customized corporate team events.
2019 – Global tabtour®
The Global tabtour® set a new benchmark for hybrid global events. For the first time, 700 participants across 10 cities in 4 countries took part in a shared experience while connected in real time. This innovative event format enables large international corporations and multi-site organizations to bring teams together across locations, creating meaningful shared experiences while reducing travel costs and supporting a more sustainable approach to corporate events.
2018 – teamgeist Launches in Vienna
Hello, Austria! With the launch of teamgeist Wien GmbH, we began bringing stronger team spirit to organizations across Austria’s capital, as well as the regions of Burgenland and Lower Austria. Whether it's a tabtour®, Chain Reaction, Raft Building, or Dragon Boat event, teams enjoy unique shared experiences in beautiful natural settings and inspiring venues – all delivered with the trusted teamgeist quality, from the initial consultation through to flawless execution.
2015 – Publication of The teamgeist Story
During a journey around the world, The teamgeist Story was written together with author Sheila Rietscher. The book tells the story of the world voyage, the experiences and insights gained along the way, and the beginnings of teamgeist. At the same time, it is a reflection on freedom as one of society’s greatest values and on the responsibility that both individuals and businesses have in shaping a better future.
2014 – Circumnavigation of the Globe
In 2014, Micha Haufe embarked on a journey to sail around the world while continuing to lead teamgeist remotely. Along the way, he shared his experiences and insights on leadership, remote management, and a location-independent lifestyle with clients across Germany and around the world.
With the Teamgeist World Tour 2023–2027, the next circumnavigation is already underway aboard the catamaran Teamspirit.
2014 – teamgeist Expands Internationally
teamgeist is now represented in every region of Germany. The next step was international expansion, beginning in Asia. From Bangkok, teamgeist team events and team building experiences were organized in various regions across Thailand. The successful tabtour® concept was also introduced to international markets, bringing interactive team experiences to organizations worldwide.

2013 – Foundation of espoto
Under the espoto brand, a foundational software platform for gamifying processes was created. Today, espoto develops mobile software solutions and serious games for teamgeist and customers worldwide, enabling interactive team events, tourism experiences, educational formats, and corporate communication solutions.

2012 – teamgeist.com Becomes the Largest Provider of Team Events
With the launch of teamgeist.com, the largest German-language online marketplace for team events, team building experiences, and incentives was created. Our philosophy: think globally, act locally. We offer nationwide events backed by a strong quality promise – consulting, concept development, and execution, all from a single source.
2011 – The Digital Scavenger Hunt tabtour®
The tabtour® was launched and quickly became one of teamgeist's most successful products. With its innovative digital scavenger hunt concept, this team event format offers versatile applications across industries and business areas, creating interactive experiences that bring teams together.
2010 – Raft Building
With the invention of the Mega Team Raft Building concept by teamgeist founder Micha Haufe, the company began specializing in large-scale group projects. In 2013, teamgeist achieved a world record and was featured in the Guinness World Records. The event reached the impressive milestone of 1,000 participants. This outstanding achievement in logistics, safety, and event design was rewarded with enthusiastic feedback and unforgettable experiences for clients.
2005 – A Team Event Beyond Expectations
In the heart of Berlin, an extraordinary team event was launched: teams set sail on two offshore yachts along the River Spree. Motivating and rewarding employees became an increasingly important part of talent development and modern people management.
2003 – Opening of the Event Location
teamgeist opens a green training and event location at Lake Wolzig near Berlin, spanning 15,000 square meters.
Expansion of Team Event Offerings
The team continues to grow, and so does the range of experiences offered. teamgeist develops various indoor event concepts and inspires teams throughout Berlin and Brandenburg. One highlight that remains popular today is the Domino Rally for large groups.
2002 – Building a Team Sailing Fleet in the Berlin Area
teamgeist introduces team building experiences on the water to strengthen communication and team roles. Up to 120 participants can take part simultaneously, working together in teams and creating shared experiences.
1997 – Team Building for Leaders and High-Performance Teams
The first teamgeist offshore yacht is launched. From this point on, leaders and high-performance teams take part in training experiences on board, guided and developed by Micha Haufe and his team.
1992 – Surf School
In 1992, Micha Haufe launched a social project in Blossin near Berlin. Together with his team, he offered team building programs for students and apprentices with a preventive approach focused on strengthening team spirit. Through activities such as surfing, sailing, and raft building, the surf school grew rapidly.
1982 – Michael Haufe’s Childhood Dream
teamgeist founder Michael Haufe grew up in the former East Germany. Even as a child, he dreamed of surfing, sailing, and exploring the open seas. After German reunification, he studied business administration at Humboldt University in Berlin while simultaneously building a water sports center at Lake Wolzig.
