Irish Road Bowling Hamburg
Irish Road Bowling Hamburg
Welcome to your team event in Northern Germany!
Irish road bowling, also known as dike golfing or klootschieten, has been played in Northern Germany for hundreds of years. Even Theodor Storm once immortalised the sport of the Frisians in his famous novel The Rider on the White Horse. The free and hanseatic city of Hamburg offers one of the most beautiful road bowling routes in Northern Germany: Along the Alster, at the Elbe dike, the Niendorfer Gehege or Alten Land.
The open-air event for all weathers!
What is it about? One ball, one team, one cart, one goal. The objective: Along a dike-long route, get the ball to the finish line using fewer throws than the opponent. Drinks and snacks are brought along in the handcart. A strict referee watches your every move and makes sure that you play according the the rules. There is nothing more Northern-German! Your teamgeist guides know the best routes and know every trick in the book. No eye remains dry!
